  • World leaders in design automation for custom orthotics
    The name Taika3D is based on the Finnish word Taika, meaning ‘magic’. And that’s exactly what Taika3D provide; design generation software that is pretty miraculous. Trusted by leading manufacturers worldwide to generate thousands of pairs of insoles a day, Taika3D have been solving the challenge of creating complex custom designs in a fast and consistent way since 2019.

  • Evolution, not revolution
    Taika3D came to us at a time when they were already world leaders in 3D design automation of orthotics, with an established client base across North America and Europe. But their existing look still had the feel of an emerging start-up. The brief from Taika3D was to adopt a process of ‘evolution’ rather than ‘revolution’, keeping the much-loved logo and strapline of ‘Capture, Create, Grow’ but moving the rest of the brand forward. Taika3D were now a world leader, so they needed to look like one.

    The existing logo was retained but a new brand toolkit was built around it. The updated colour palette now makes use of a core set of gradients and solid colours, all taken directly from the Taika3D logo. In terms of typography, we switched to Inter Tight. The new corporate font when paired with a sparing use of the brand colour palette and white space, instantly makes the brand cleaner and more contemporary.

    The shapes that make up the Taika3D logo now inform how imagery is used and has directly led to the creation of a suite of linear patterns that add interest and texture across the Taika3D brand. Most evident across the website, photography is housed inside shapes from the logo, cropped off where necessary in order to suit the imagery used. Adaptable and versatile, the use of the shapes in this way further reinforces the Taika3D brand. A full suite of brand icons has also been created which is constantly being updated as the need arises. Linear in style, the icons can be used as static images or animated, making them especially useful across both online and offline media.

    The updated brand has now been implemented across the website, social channels, and marketing collateral. Its use and application is constantly evolving but has already resulted in a brand that is more modern, professional and technological in look and feel. Just like Taika3D.
